The Society of Camera Operators, the honorary society recognized for its high caliber of active camera operator members, associate members, and corporate affiliates, continues its tradition of honoring the best and the brightest in the industry at its Lifetime Achievement Awards. On February 16, 2008, The Society of Camera Operators (SOC) held thier 2008 Lifetime Achievement Awards at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood, CA. 

The Society of Camera Operators proudly announce the recipients of the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Awards:

This evening's honories included Joe Dunton, MBE, BSC, Robert Primes, ASC, Larry McConkey, SOC, Mitch Dubin, SOC, François Duhamel, SMPSP and Tilman Büttner, SOC. Technical Achievement Awards were given to the Stedicam™ Ultra 2 Camera Support System as well as The Panavision Genesis High Definition Camera.   

Award presenters included Michael Keaton, Dean Semler, SOC, Paul Babin, SOC, Garrett Brown, Stephen Buram, SOC, Dan Kneece, SOC, Caleb Deschanel, ASC, and David Frederick, SOC, the show's producer.
