During a time of incredible change in the environment, they will address important questions facing the community including: What technologies and tools are important in their creative process? How do revolutionary changes in distribution affect the audience and their execution of creativity? What’s the same, and what’s not? Zoe Borys (Fletcher Camera) moderates top panelists including cinematographers Pete Biagi and Fred Miller, Producer Billy Maursky, and colorist Pete Jannotta in an important discussion fusing technology with story.

BRYAN CARROLL: CAPTURING AND CONTROLLING “PUBLIC ENEMIES”

Co-Producer Bryan Carroll is in Chicago for PUBLIC ENEMIES, working again with Oscar-nominated director Michael Mann. Bryan, Mann’s chief technical advisor on a number of recent projects, has enabled production with cutting-edge technologies and tools in a list of diverse credits including COLLATERAL, MIAMI VICE, and Mann’s return to television, ROBBERY HOMICIDE DIVISION. Able to mix the divergent paths of creativity and technology, Bryan has developed a technical expertise that empowers storytellers to utilize tools and workflows, often for the first time in the marketplace. He’s guided Mann’s Forward Pass productions through a maze of cutting-edge cameras, editing tools and work flows during one of the most dynamic times in entertainment technology. During a Conversation with Mark Androw, STORY, Bryan will discuss acquisition, post production and the creative application of technology on PUBLIC ENEMIES and other groundbreaking projects that he’s contributed to.

Bryan began his career in the editing room, contributing to PREDATOR, DIE HARD, THE ACCUSED, CITY SLICKERS, and ALI. On PUBLIC ENEMIES, co-producer Carroll works with Mann, legendary cinematographer Dante Spinotti and Oscar nom’d editor Paul Rubell to develop an acquisition and post production workflow that will, once again, re-invent the creative process.
