HD EXPO March Speakers
Jacob Rosenberg is a filmmaker and published Author who continues to push projects through the bleeding edge of technology. Recently, Jacob produced and directed a direct-to-disk HD music video for Los Angeles based artist John Gold. Jacob also serves as the DI supervisor and Online Editor for the upcoming Cavu release “Lbs.” Having already benchmarked a new post workflow with the feature film “Dust to Glory,” “Lbs.” reflects a post friendly low cost, high quality workflow for finishing feature films on affordable desktop computers. Jacob Rosenberg is a California based independent filmmaker, author and digital video expert. For the last 10 years Jacob has worked extensively with Adobe Systems on their editing program Adobe Premiere Pro. The Adobe Press published Jacob’s book on Premiere Pro 1.5, while Total Training has released 4 volumes of Premiere training DVDs written and hosted by Jacob. A film graduate from Emerson College, Jacob’s college thesis film Silent Rain in the Ninth can be found on the DVD: Short Cinema Journal 5: Diversity. Jacob has directed and edited a handful of short films as well as a number of music videos (Baha Men, Hieroglyphics, Del the Funky Homosapien). Jacob got his start editing, directing and filming skateboard videos in the early 90s for Dogtown Skates and Plan B Skateboards. Jacob recently served as the Online Editor and Digital Intermediate (DI) Supervisor for the IFC release, Dust to Glory, Directed by Dana Brown (Step into Liquid). Dust to Glory utilized an all digital workflow that used 1080p HD as its Digital Intermediate format mixing nine different video formats seamlessly and printing the HD edit directly to film. Currently, Jacob is the DI Supervisor and Online Editor for the upcoming independent film, LBS.. LBS. was shot on Super16 and was scanned at 2K resolution for finishing within a compressed 2K environment using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
